New Balance shares a variety of its female athletes’ and ambassadors’ stories and experiences across all its owned channels

New Balance has celebrated International Women’s Day by kicking off a storytelling series focused on women’s self-expression and female empowerment.

In keeping with the brand’s commitment to purpose-driven action and storytelling, New Balance will be sharing a variety of its female athletes’ and ambassadors’ stories and experiences across all the brand’s owned channels.

The athletes set to be featured include runners Brenda Martinez, Nozomi Tanaka and Amy Hunt, skateboarder Samarria Brevard, soccer players Rocky Rodriguez and Tatiana Pinto, tennis player Danielle Collins and cricketer Meg Lanning.

All content that will be featured in this campaign was shot entirely by the athletes themselves, giving fans a never-before-seen look into their daily lives, what drives them and what advice they have for younger generations.

“With this campaign, we want to highlight the importance of self-expression to women of all ages and backgrounds,” says Tracy Knauer, Senior Director of North America Marketing at New Balance.

“As a brand, we believe that empowerment is key to creativity and unlocking the freedom to fully express yourself and pursue goals. While the stories of our athletes differ in many ways, they are all linked in that they celebrate the unique style, passions and inspiration within our collective community.”

The campaign itself was produced by 19th & Park, a female-led agency based in New York City, which takes tremendous pride in creating meaningful campaigns that educate and inspire young women.

Whether it’s Danielle Collins sharing the importance of staying grounded or Samarria Brevard encouraging young girls and leading by example, the series will do just that, inspiring all women and girls to let their voices be heard and celebrate who they are and what drives them.

“It’s important to always stay true to who you are and what you want to do in life,” says Brevard. “The experiences of all women and girls deserve to be heard and celebrated. Through this campaign, we hope to encourage people to share their stories with the world.”

While this campaign shines a light on the ways in which New Balance’s athletes express themselves, it is emblematic of a larger commitment from the brand to create a stage for women in sports to tell their stories throughout 2021, and beyond.
