2018 GRANDY Award Won by McCann for “Fearless Girl” Statue Installed in New York City’s Wall Street Area

For the second consecutive year, McCann was both named Network of the Year at the International ANDY Awards and was chosen as winner of the Best-in-Show GRANDY Award.

The global network honour reflects creative work from six countries spanning the agency‘s North American, Asian, European and Middle Eastern regions.

The agency this year also won the Richard T. O’Reilly Social Good Award, the ANDY’s best-in-show recognition for public service work. By winning both the GRANDY and the Richard T. O’Reilly honours, it won two of the top three awards presented to agencies.

The ANDY Awards this year were restructured to eliminate both product/service categories and award tiers in order to focus only on Ideas and Craft, along with the presentation of the four top awards, one of which recognises a student and her or his work.

“We are proud that our agencies around the world continue to demonstrate their consistent commitment to helping our clients grow across so many marketing platforms,” said Harris Diamond, Chairman and CEO of McCann Worldgroup.

The agency won the 2018 GRANDY Award for “Fearless Girl,” the statue of the determined little girl that the New York agency created for State Street Global Advisors and installed in New York City’s Wall Street area.

The Indian agency won The Richard T. O’Reilly Social Good Award for the Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health’s “Immunity Charm.”

The New York agency had also won the GRANDY last year for another highly innovative marketing campaign, Lockheed Martin’s group VR “Field Trip to Mars.”

“We continue to be amazed by the level of commitment our clients put towards solving real business challenges with inventive and powerful ideas. They deserve as much credit as all of our agencies around the world for this humbling honour,” said Rob Reilly, Global Creative Chairman of McCann Worldgroup.

In addition to winning the GRANDY, the New York agency won four more awards for work for Verizon and Qualcomm as well as State Street. Other agency network winners included FP7 Cairo//McCann (2) for Orange Telecom, McCann Worldgroup Thailand (2) for Verena International, The Cyranos//McCann (2) for Yournalist, and one each for McCann London (Microsoft) and McCann Worldgroup India (“Immunity Charm”). The International ANDY awards are presented by the Advertising Club of New York.

The agency’s 2018 International ANDY performance is the latest of many top global creative honours won by the agency, which was named Adweek’s 2017 “US Agency of the Year” and No. 2 on Ad Age’s 2018 “Agency A-List” for the second straight year.

Last year the agency won the most top Grand Prix (six) at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and was the most awarded Cannes agency in North America.
