The new Hilton Brooklyn New York has opened on Boerum Hill to offer both business and leisure travellers the best of the borough.

Hilton has unveiled a 19-storey property on Boerum Hill. Situated on the corner of Smith and Schermerhorn, an enclave of chic shops, restaurants, and night scene, the hotel sets a new standard of hospitality in said city. The commercial development offers 196 spacious guestrooms and suites.

Visitors will experience authentic Brooklyn fare as Chef Rob Newton brings a piece of the borough with his newest venture, Black Walnut, set to be one of the neighbourhood’s hottest gathering spots. The premium restaurant offers a menu that reflects his Arkansas roots and years of global travel.

With hotspots like the Barclays Center, Brooklyn Heights Promenade, Brooklyn Museum, and Brooklyn Botanic Garden nearby, the destination places one steps away from many quintessential experiences. For those interested in exploring Manhattan, 12 subway lines make for an easy commute.

“With its prime location and on-site restaurant and bar helmed by one of the borough’s most celebrated chefs, Rob Newton, guests will immediately feel in the heart of it all in this thriving community,” said Shawn McAteer, Vice President, Global Brand Management at Hilton Hotels & Resorts.

Meanwhile, its design aesthetic captures a motif representative of the Schermerhorn rope factory which occupied the site during the 19th century, braiding rope for state’s then shipbuilding industry. References to the site’s history are seen in the hotel’s interiors and architecture by Stonehill & Taylor.

Key markers include murals of vintage neighborhood maps lining the walls and carpeting patterned with rope imagery in the corridors. Additionally, with 2,300 square feet of function space, Hilton Brooklyn New York can accommodate up to 140 attendees for meetings and social events.

For business and leisure travellers seeking unhindered convenience, the hotel’s amenities include a 24-hour gym, business centre, grab-and-go pantry, and concierge service. Situated on Schermerhorn Street, the luxury Brooklyn location is owned by Flank and managed by Urgo Hotels & Resorts.

Hilton was a global winner of the 2014-2015 World Branding Awards in the Hotels category.
