Santander have teamed up with Kurupt FM and the cast of People Just Do Nothing, the popular BAFTA-winning BBC TV show, to alert younger customers to the dangers of fraud.
Research shows that 47% of financial scams were amongst under 30s, with social media being the main culprit. 85% of under 25s have left themselves open to fraud with details they have shared on Instagram alone.
The campaign, ‘MC Grindah’s Deadliest Dupes’ has been put together featuring the character MC Grindah going undercover, investigating scams, with each ad ending with the line ‘Don’t Get Kurupted’.
The Head of Retail & Business Banking, Santander UK, Susan Allen commented: “We’re committed to fighting financial crime and work hard to raise awareness of fraud and scams with all age groups.
“We recognised that to engage younger audiences with these important messages, we needed to do something different and memorable.
“We hope that everyone, no matter what age, will enjoy Deadliest Dupes and learn how to stay safe so they Don’t Get Kurupted.”
