The Visa Airport Companion programme affords cardholders a complete experience via a digitally-integrated mobile platform.

Global payments juggernaut, Visa has rolled out its Airport Companion programme, which is the first of its kind in Asia Pacific to afford cardholders a complete experience via a digitally-integrated mobile platform. The initiative acts as a comprehensive solution that offers a unique and seamless proposition.

The platform makes it possible for customers to gain access to exclusive privileges and discounts to amenities as at the airport such as lounges, restaurants, spas, retail, limousines and meet-and-greet services. The system provides in-app payment, card verification, smart recommendations, and push notifications.

According to the brand, airports are commerce hubs with a growing number of travellers, retail stores, and spend. Verdict’s Global Airport Retailing Report from 2013 suggests that about 7.5 billion people are expected to pass through an airport in 2019 with sales estimated to be $60 billion.

As an introductory offering, Visa Infinite cardholders can enjoy a complimentary membership until 31 May 2017, and enjoy up to a 20 percent discount at 200 dining outlets in key Asia Pacific airports as well as discounts on the purchase of single lounge passes.

“We are constantly exploring ways in which we can stay ahead of the curve in bringing value to our cardholders. The programme provides cardholders a one-stop shop to enjoy the various offerings on a digital platform,” TS Anil, Senior Vice President, Head of Products, Asia Pacific for Visa.

Visa was a winner at the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 World Branding Awards respectively under the Credit Cards (Global) category.
