Appointed to the role is Wendi Shapiro, who brings to the MWWPR table, extensive consumer marketing and communications experience.

MWWPR has named Wendi Shapiro (pictured) to the role of Senior Vice President, Western Region Consumer Practice Head—an appointment which will see the fresh hire stationed at the firm’s Los Angeles office. She is set to spearhead the business development process for prospective consumer clients.

Additionally, she is to serve as steward of the region’s robust consumer marketing practice and lead communications strategies across its clients spanning the restaurant, travel as well as wine and spirits sectors. Shapiro was most recently a senior vice president at Murphy O’Brien Public Relations.

At the agency, she oversaw the Lifestyle Collection of accounts, providing strategic leadership for businesses such as The Cheesecake Factory, Bolthouse Farms, See’s Candies, Morton’s The Steakhouse, Lynx Grills, Mendocino Farms, Tender Greens, and The Better Chip, to name a few.

She has also dominated in health and beauty, having worked with brands like Wet n’ Wild, Goody Hair Care, Alterna, and Hourglass Cosmetics. Her first industry job was in literary publicity. Here, she supported campaigns for New York Times’ bestselling authors like Nigella Lawson, Suze Orman, Anne Geddes, and Suzanne Somers.

Meanwhile, her past exploits with hospitality and travel clients include the launch of The Andaz Maui at Wailea under Hyatt Hotels, Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, and the introduction of the luxury beachfront cottages called Beach Village at the historic Hotel del Coronado, among others.
