Heather Wilson has joined MWWPR, where she will helm its crisis and issues management practice as Executive Vice President and MD.

MWWPR has hired Heather Wilson to lead the firm’s crisis and issues management practice as EVP and Managing Director. Specialised in media and corporate affairs, she brings to the position extensive experience in the crafting of communications solutions tailored to resolve a host of complex issues.

With her addition to the team, the group welcomes an industry veteran whose core strengths span media strategy, crisis communications, and corporate reputation management. Wilson’s ability to merge traditional resources with omni-media strategies will help ensure clients receive the best tools available.

She will play a significant role in the firm’s strategic communications practice, which encompasses financial communications, financial services as well as digital and corporate reputation management. She was formerly MD and head of Abernathy MacGregor’s (AMG) San Francisco office.

In her capacity as senior counsellor, she was responsible for the company’s operations in the Bay Area. Prior to AMG, she served as an Executive Vice President at Weber Shandwick, where she led crisis and issues management and developed major campaigns for several multinational clients.

Among her many accomplishments, Wilson led crisis communications around the crash landing of US Air flight 1549, The Miracle on the Hudson. She was also instrumental in creating the agency’s digital crisis management protocol, while heading up media training sessions across the globe.
