Y&R has made a series of key appointments, including the recent hire of Grey Group EMEA lead, David Patton, who joins in January 2017.
Y&R has named David Patton (pictured) Global President, a role which places him in charge of operational leadership across the regions. Set to join in January, he will be based in London. He is from Grey Group, where he has served as EMEA President and CEO for six years.
Prior to said commission, he was Chief Executive Officer at Grey UK. The industry heavyweight is credited with the transformation of the London agency as well as the strengthening of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region with the right talent, capabilities, and creative focus.
“In bringing David Patton on board, we assure the strength and integrity of both sides of the equation. I can think of no one better than he to lead this charge forward. His enormous intellect and instincts make him a valued partner to our clients,” said David Sable, Global CEO of Y&R.
Meanwhile, the group has formed a new global healthcare practice and named Howard Courtemanche its President. The veteran has worked on pharma and consumer healthcare for nearly two decades, and enters the firm following his most recent role as CEO of JWT’s health practice.
Also, Director of Business Development in North America, JJ Schmuckler, has been promoted to Global Chief Marketing Officer of Y&R. Based in New York, he succeeds Alex Hughes, who has moved to Washington DC to head the U.S. Census account since winning the pitch.
