The firm beefs up two major disciplines with three senior appointments that combined bring more than 40 years of experience to the table

Global communications network, Weber Shandwick, has initiated a series of key hires in line with its efforts to strengthen the firm’s integrated marketing capabilities in Los Angeles, particularly across creative content production, digital strategy, and expertise in healthcare communications.

Emmy-nominated Alejandro Castro Enciso steps into the role of Senior Vice President and Executive Producer for agency’s digital creative group, while Jacqueline Karis brings a wealth of experience to its healthcare practice as the new Vice President of the said arm and will address the diverse needs of the California market.

Both appointments follow the naming of Scott Davis as Weber Shandwick’s lead for its digital and strategic planning disciplines. Across his 17-year tenure of delivering client solutions across multiple communications areas, he has served with agencies such as Deutsch, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Ogilvy & Mather.

Enciso has been charged with beefing up the brand’s visual influence and live content creation capabilities on the West Coast. His almost two decades worth of television experience includes work on shows like NBC’s Nightly News, The Today Show, and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The aforementioned stints underscore his passion for storytelling to create narratives which inspire audiences. His expertise also covers Spanish-language media, having worked as a freelance writer for La Opinion, the largest Spanish-language newspaper in the country.

Meanwhile, Karis has clocked more than 10 years in the practice of healthcare public relations, developing a diverse range of campaigns for pharmaceutical, biotech, device, and non-profit clients. She previously worked at Chandler Chicco Agency, where she dabbled in areas such as cardiology, allergy, and pain management.

“Navigating today’s complex media landscape requires talent with highly-specialised knowledge and the ability to collaborate with experts across the network to develop integrated solutions that drive our clients’ businesses. Alejandro, Jacqueline and Scott bring incredible experience, diverse subject matter, and client-service expertise to our increasingly integrated team here in Los Angeles,” said Leslie Capstraw, General Manager of Weber Shandwick Los Angeles.
