The Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau is driving appeal to encourage travellers to explore the destination beyond just its beaches.

The Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau has begun its summer push. Titled Go Beachless / Go Beach, it is scheduled to run until the end of June. Its aim is to educate consumers on the various other trappings the destination has to offer on top of its beaches.

As part of the effort, the bureau is giving away a travel package for up to four guests. The prize features a three-night stay with breakfast at the new Hyatt Place Virginia Beach Town Center and a $1,000 Visa gift card. Fans can take part through the sweepstakes microsite.

“The campaign will educate visitors on the activities available across our entire destination. It is designed to transcend category conventions, distinguish us from the competition, and increase familiarity with the place,” said Brad Van Dommelen, Director of Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau.
