The Find X8 Pro will launch in China, followed by a worldwide release later.

Android manufacturers often take cues from Apple’s innovative smartphone features. However, this year, Oppo moved with remarkable speed. Two months after Apple introduced Camera Control on the iPhone 16, Oppo’s Find X8 series debuted with a comparable touch-sensitive shutter button.

Oppo’s latest flagship smartphones, the Find X8 and X8 Pro, will debut in China this month. Powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400, these devices are designed for photography enthusiasts and will be available globally in November.

The standard model features a 6.59-inch flat OLED display with a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The Pro variant, on the other hand, boasts a larger 6.78-inch curved OLED panel with subtle quad-curved glass. While both phones adopt a flatter metal frame, they still carry the iconic circular camera module reminiscent of the Find X6 Pro.

Oppo has equipped the Find X8 and X8 Pro with powerful camera systems. The Find X8 features a 50MP Sony IMX890 main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide sensor with autofocus, and a 50MP telephoto sensor with OIS and 3x optical zoom. The Find X8 Pro takes it to the next level with a larger 50MP Sony IMX989 primary sensor and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with OIS and 6x optical zoom.

Oppo has taken smartphone photography to new heights with the Find X8 Pro, which boasts a dedicated “Quick Button” for effortless camera control. This innovative button lets users instantly launch the camera, capture photos, and zoom with a simple press or swipe. Hasselblad’s image processing expertise, combined with Oppo’s new live photo mode, ensures stunning results every time.

Oppo has equipped the Find X8 and X8 Pro with ample power and storage. Both models start with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, but the Pro offers a massive 16GB/1TB configuration for power users. The Find X8 features a 5630mAh battery, while the Pro takes it up a notch with a 5910mAh battery. Both phones support blazing-fast 80W wired charging and convenient 50W wireless charging.

The Oppo Find X8 will be available in China starting at CNY 4199, while the Find X8 Pro will have a starting price of CNY 5299. Global pricing is expected to be significantly higher. Oppo is set to make a significant return to the European market, with a potential UK launch in the near future.

Oppo has not announced a direct successor to the Find X7 Ultra. However, rumours suggest that a new Ultra model is in development and may be released in early 2025.
