TBWA\Chiat\Day LA has elevated Executive Creative Director, Renato Fernandez, to Chief Creative Officer. A six-year agency veteran, he steps into the role last held by Brent Anderson, who has moved to TBWA\Media Arts Lab to assume the charge of CCO as well.

Having led the Gatorade account in the United States and globally, he will remain at the helm of the sports fuel brand. Meanwhile, he has been tasked with assuming creative leadership across the network’s full roster of clients, while overseeing the creative department.

The new CCO has been with the company since 2011, when he relocated from Brazil to Los Angeles to serve as Associate Creative Director. One of the industry’s best, he is celebrated for delivering the type of culturally relevant work that is a hallmark of TBWA\Chiat\Day.

His foray into advertising began in 1994 in his hometown of Curitiba. Fernandez later joined Almap/BBDO and serviced top-tier brands like Volkswagen, Gatorade, and Havaianas. Throughout his career, his work has been honoured at all major festivals and award shows.

“Renato is a master craftsman, and his ability to tell stories across multiple platforms and media is second to none. He challenges himself to create impactful ideas while solving big problems,” said Stephen Butler, Creative Chairman at TBWA\Chiat\Day Los Angeles.
