Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo amplifies the brand’s commitment to coffee innovation in Japan, its first market outside of North America.
An earnest tribute to premium quality, innovation, and human connection, the Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo has opened, reaffirming the company’s commitment to Japan. A four-storey facility assembled to deliver experiences, the roastery is the fifth such location to launch around the world.
The roastery introduces patrons to more than a hundred signature coffee and tea beverage offerings and merchandise, alongside an artisanal menu of Princi Italian fare. The venue celebrates craftsmanship with its Amu Inspiration Lounge designed for community events.
The culture of amu means knit together. Also, Starbucks has plans to use the venue as its first Specialty Coffee Association certified training location in Japan. Set in Nakameguro, its design is inspired by the widely known cherry blossom trees which line the Meguro River.
Complementing the natural beauty and sense of harmony of the landscape, glass walls and terrace floors seamlessly fold into fabric of the scenic district. The aim is to capture the zest of the local fauna and highlight the four seasons of the river to help visitors feel at ease.
“Beginning with the Make it Yours campaign that will commence at every store in Japan upon the debut of the roastery, customers will get to experience our first coffee roasted exclusively in Tokyo and made available in various styles,” said Takafumi Minaguchi, CEO, Starbucks Japan.
