SodaStream has unveiled a campaign addressing the damage caused by single-use plastic. Thor Bjornsson and Sir Rod Stewart are featured.

SodaStream has released a campaign focused on the global damage caused by single-use plastic bottles. The video depicts a singing sea turtle urging people to be responsible and make the meaningful change of going reusable. With 20 million views in its first 48 hours, the short film has gone viral.

A metaphor for the green hills and blue oceans that have become polluted by plastic waste over the years, it is led by Sir Rod Stewart as the sea turtle, and stars Thor Bjornsson (The Mountain in GoT) alongside Sarah Catherine Hook. The spot was launched in tandem with online channel, FightPlastic.

“Plastic has become a pandemic threat, with devastating environmental consequences for our oceans. With this campaign, we give a voice to marine animals, and inspire people and corporations to switch from single-use plastic to reusable packaging,” said Daniel Birnbaum, CEO of SodaStream.

Encouraging viewers to take a stand against single-use plastic bottles, SodaStream uses a choir of voices to carry its message forward through Ocean of Change—the theme song written for the push.
