Named Vice President of Business Development, former Kraft director Eric Schultz’s charge covers the network’s Americas region

Brand development, activation, and deployment provider, SGK, a division of Matthews International Corporation, has named industry veteran, Eric Schultz, to the role of Vice President of Business Development. The charge extends across the global network’s Americas region.

Set to lead initiatives within the consumer packaged goods (CPGs), retail, and healthcare sectors across the aforementioned landscape, he is responsible for the delivery of strategic solutions to drive brand performance in relation to marketers on a global, regional, and local level.

With a proven track record in bringing innovations to market as well as great design to the masses. His background in product development, innovation, and brand building entails an 18-year history featuring past collaborations with multiple agencies, suppliers, converters, and CPGs.

Most recently Associate Director, Packaging Innovation and Design at Kraft Foods Group, he managed the company’s structural design lab, brought in new prototyping capabilities, and set structural strategy for the entire organisation. He also drove best practices and facilitated ideation sessions.

Schultz has also held numerous roles at a number of agencies including a nine-year tenure with Kaleidoscope—a Chicago-based brand strategy and design firm with locations in New York and the United Kingdom. He began his career as a Prototype Engineer and Product Model Maker, generating important industry insights.

His unique pedigree mixes strategic design thinking, creative discipline, and tactical know-hows. In the late 1990s, he enjoyed a professional minor league baseball career as a pitcher with the Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, and Toronto Blue Jays. Meanwhile, SGK’s global footprint spans more than 20 countries, including the UK.
