Merging elegant design and industry-leading technology, Chef Collection brings Samsung’s most innovative and popular home appliance features to the premium built-in category

Samsung Electronics America, the appliance brand, announced the launch of the new Chef Collection line of premium built-in appliances.

According to recent research by Houzz, a platform for home remodeling and design, the top reason homeowners renovate their kitchens centre around personalising the space, whether it’s a recent home purchase, updating an older kitchen, or finally having the financial means to upgrade. Chef Collection reflects the aspirations of a new generation of state-of-the-art homeowners who look to the kitchen not just as a room to cook in, but as a sophisticated reflection of who they are. The line includes exclusive chef-inspired features in a premium full suite of wall ovens, cooktops, pro range, dishwasher, and refrigerators, including the industry’s first fully integrated 42” Built-In 4-Door Flex model.

“The kitchen is the room we connect and spend time with family and friends. It’s where we relax, celebrate, nourish and create. With its beautiful design and surprising technology, Chef Collection enable and inspires these important moments in our lives,” said John Herrington, Senior Vice President, General Manager of Home Appliances, Samsung Electronics America.

To explore consumer trends and dynamics in the kitchen, Samsung invited Houzz to share recent insights and research at Samsung 837 in New York City today to celebrate the launch of the Chef Collection line. Among Houzz’s key findings:

  • Homeowners are spending more than ever on home renovations, particularly first-time homeowners and Millennials (ages 25-34). First timers who bought their home in 2016 spent US $33,800/£25,760 on average, 22% more than the year prior.
  • Over a quarter of homeowners (28%) consider integration of smart technology very important to their renovation. This is especially true for first-time homebuyers, 35% of whom cite smart technology as very important to their home renovation decisions.
  • Kitchens are opening up more, making design more important than ever. More than half (51%) of kitchen renovators on Houzz say they are connecting it more seamlessly to an adjoining room, while 20% are opening it to the outdoors.
