Renaissance Hotels has breathed new life into the historic Savery Hotel located in Des Moines, spending millions on its refurbishment.

Following a multi-million-dollar revamp, the Renaissance Des Moines Savery Hotel, under Marriott International, has reopened its doors. The move reinforces the brand’s significant design momentum worldwide, with further such renovations planned for various cities in the United States.

The other destinations include Long Beach, California; Chicago, Illinois; Norfolk, Virginia; and New York City. The newly reimagined location pays homage to the cultural history of the metropolis and delivers modernity across its 209 fully updated guestrooms, suites, as well as public spaces.

The Renaissance-branded establishment also features a refreshed lobby which includes a timeline design of the hotel’s century-long heritage, along with a memorial to the Women’s Auxiliary Corps. The corps was hosted at Hotel Savery during the Second World War. Meanwhile, a fresh eatery has emerged.

Delivering a new concept, Scopri is a locally-sourced Italian restaurant. Guests will be treated to encounters that afford hand-crafted culinary classics which celebrate the local mainstays of Des Moines. Serving cocktails inspired by pre- and post-Prohibition libations is the venue’s Coda Lounge.

The outlet also delivers weekly entertainment via the property’s ‘Evenings at Renaissance’ programme. Reinvention efforts have also brought interesting artwork to the 12,000 square feet of meeting and event spaces. Styles from the 1940s and 50s complement the contemporary pieces in use.
