The new company has rolled out an app to activate round-the-clock service which subscribers can manage at their convenience online

Dry cleaning business, Q2 Smart Locker, has opened its doors in London for the first time, with plans to launch more than 100 locations citywide by May 2016. No ordinary laundromat, the brand has rolled out an app to activate round-the-clock service which subscribers can manage at their convenience online.

A proposition best suited to the needs of the working professional, Q2 (Quick and Quality), aims to deliver on its unique selling point—a dry cleaning service which picks up and delivers one’s clothes from multiple locations. Essentially, customers of the brand will not have to visit a physical shop to place an order.

In addition, multi-compartment lockers are set feature at strategic location such as stations and supermarkets. The public can register for the service either online or by phone. A password-activated process, users will then be able to access a locker to insert their dry cleaning.

Once the cleaning is secure, the networked locker reports that a collection is required. The laundry is picked up and taken to the Q2 dry cleaning centre in East London. It is inventoried and cleaned by trained staff. All forms of traditional dry cleaning services are available, including those for delicate items.

Upon completion, the clean laundry is returned to the locker where the clothes were originally delivered within eight hours. Payment is cleared online and can be executed via phone, tablet or PC.  For long-term or regular use, a customer will be able to set up a prepaid account.

Each locker contains ten compartments and is accessible 24 hours a day. The networked system ensures that no compartment is occupied for more than 30 minutes. It is the first time in the UK that a traditional service has been combined with digital capabilities and extended across such a vast area using unmanned collection points.

For added security, each unit is constantly monitored by CCTV. The service is an ideal fix for busy Londoners who require a reliable cleaning service but cannot find the time to get to a dry cleaner. The company debuted earlier this month and is now fully operational.

“Q2 Smart Locker promises to revolutionise dry cleaning, combining high-quality service with modern communications to bring dry cleaning closer to customers. We’re thrilled at the prospect of launching this service across London,” said Arek Kozikowski, Founder of Q2 Smart Locker.
