In conjunction with its Royalty campaign, OneUnited Bank has debuted a new facility celebrating American black women who to who inspire.
The largest Black-owned bank in America, OneUnited, has unveiled the Queen Visa Debit Card as part of its Royalty campaign. The offering celebrates inspiring African-American women of the past and present responsible for driving positive change, from scientists to activists to educators to entertainers.
Tapping into the country’s #BlackGirlMagic, the OneUnited push recognises political and civil rights icons like Harriet Taubman, Shirley Chisholm, and Angela Davis. Other standout personalities are such as the late Aretha Franklin, Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé Knowles, Queen Latifah, Janelle Monae, and Toni Morrison.
OneUnited is using the #WearYourCrown campaign platform and product launch to take its #BankBlack as well as #BuyBlack movement further. Businesses owned by black women grew by 164 percent from 2007 to 2018. According to Forbes, ownership stood at 2.4 million last year alone.
“We agree with Maya Angelou. If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be. We encourage the Black community to celebrate the amazing past, present, and future Queens in our community,” said Teri Williams, President and Chief Operating Officer at OneUnited.
