Succeeding Marcos Golfari, Horacio Genolet has been chosen to assume the role of Chief Executive Officer for Ogilvy & Mather Latina.
Horacio Genolet (pictured) has been named CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Latina, the firm’s Latin America network which spans 50 offices across 22 countries, with over 1,400 employees. Currently Mexico CEO, he takes the reins from Marcos Golfari, who retains his Chairman role, on 1 January.
The move marks the first top-level executive appointment by Worldwide Chairman and CEO, John Seifert since declaring his new vision for the agency, Ogilvy – The Next Chapter, which concentrates on integration of offerings to deliver the best solutions for clients most efficiently.
Genolet entered the agency in 1993 in his native Argentina as an account supervisor. He left a few years later to work at Telecom, and later at Carat. He re-joined O&M in 2004 and held various positions including Mexico’s VP of Client Services of Mexico, Miami MD, and CCO for Mexico.
In 2015, he was named President of the Executive Board of The Mexican Associations of Advertising Agencies, a consortium of Mexico’s 120 most important communication agencies. An announcement regarding his successor at Ogilvy & Mather Mexico will be made in early January 2017.
“He has also done outstanding work on Coca-Cola and Pfizer, two of our biggest clients in the region. I could not think of a more qualified leader to drive our growth to even greater heights, nor a better partner to help me implement the company’s new global agenda in Latina,” said Seifert.
