Orders via Mytyres.co.uk can be delivered to a customer’s preferred address or to one of more than 2,000 partner fitting stations UK-wide.
Mytyres.co.uk, Europe’s largest online tyre retailer, is making available to its buyers a wide variety of summer tyres at great prices. Meant to be quick, easy, and secure, the move and accompanying process supports the tyre-changing season which springtime represents.
Activating cost savings, convenience, safety, and driver preparedness, the offer allows for orders to be delivered either to the customer’s preferred address or to one of more than 2,000 partner fitting stations across the United Kingdom. Additionally, several deals are in place to complement said promotion.
Selected workshops are set to also feature competitive rates for the storage of winter tyres at their respective outlets until they are needed during the following winter. Strongly urging a switch, the brand advises that in warm weather, winter tyres can increase fuel consumption by up to 15 percent.
In line with the above, the recommended period to replace winter tyres with summer ware is between Easter and the month of October. The latter is said will prove advantageous when the average temperature is above mostly seven degrees Celsius—for optimisation of effect.
According to the group, Germany’s biggest automotive association, ADAC, has also warned against driving on winter tyres during summer. The soft tread compound used in winter tyres render them unsuitable for warm weather due to lesser grip and weakened braking performance.
Tests on winter tyres have shown that in the summer, stopping distances at approximately 60mph/h may be extended by up to 16 metres. If tyres are also heated further through heavy vehicle loads, winter tyre side walls can suffer damage, while parts of the tread can become unstuck.
“We recommend changing to summer tyres now, because they are the only tyres that offer the right custom profile and special rubber compound for warmer weather and therefore ensure good grip and shorter breaking distances”, said Thierry Delesalle, campaign spokesperson from Mytyres.co.uk.
