The debut of the Omaha Marriott Downtown begins the opening of the Capitol District, a mixed-use development being launched in stages.
The debut of premium full-service property, Omaha Marriott Downtown, will kick-start the opening of the Capitol District—a mixed-use development that combines hotel, residential, retail, office, and entertainment spaces—which commences in August and see several launch phases.
Managed by Marcus Hotels & Resorts, the 330-room establishment designed by LEO A DALY, is being constructed by JE Dunn. The glass edifice with twelve storeys will mark a significant addition to the cityscape and complements the distinctive roofline of the Omaha Convention Center.
The transparent architectural envelope expects to inject a presence of sophistication along the street on which the site is situated. Winged corners on its south side enable 270-degree views of the downtown skyline. A rooftop pool and 17,000 square feet in meeting spaces add to its highlights.
Meanwhile, the different portions of a grand lobby—which comprise a lounge, dining room, and bar—spill over into each other to deliver a cohesive yet intimate vibe. While wood panelling hints at the locale’s roots, its design captures the true mid-century modern aesthetic of the luxury brand.
