Marc Jacobs is reissuing his Grunge Collection from 1993 for a special 2018 capsule the brand will release this month both in-store and online.

Marc Jacobs has relaunched the Redux Grunge Collection, a capsule celebrating 25 years since its spring introduction in 1993, when it was first brought to life for apparel brand, Perry Ellis. With the re-emergence of the compilation, the designer will reissue its twenty-six key looks under his own label.

With each being reintroduced in its entirety, the offerings entail ready-to-wear, jewellery, shoes, and accessories. The fashion pieces have all been re-created to showcase the original prints, fabrics, and embroideries. Reviving the styles from the inaugural runway show, the capsule enters a redefined space for a fresh audience.

The campaign around the roll-out was shot by Juergen Teller and features Gigi Hadid, Dree Hemingway, and others. The visuals will receive exposure from December onwards across a mix of magazine titles and digital outlets. The collection begins selling on 15 November at select department stores and Marc Jacobs boutiques worldwide.

Created during his tenure at Perry Ellis, Jacobs was famously fired when critics panned the 1993 show. Now in 2018, a quarter of a century later, the same brand is celebrating the designer for revisiting the first-of-its-kind collection that altered the direction of contemporary womenswear. The capsule will also be available online.
