Mack Trucks has released the eighth episode from its RoadLife series. Titled Born Ready and available on roadlife.tv and Amazon Prime Video, it features country music singer-songwriter, Steve Moakler. The entry captures the creation of the track, Born Ready, by the artiste for the Mack Anthem.

Moakler was approached by the brand to write an American road song for the launch the vehicle. The episode shares his story of making records and touring for eleven years now. Depicting his experiences on the road with his band, it celebrates the camaraderie shared amongst long-haul drivers.

“As a songwriter, you’re always looking for that next wave of inspiration and it has to be real. It turned out to be something really special—something I never would’ve thought would come from writing a song about a truck,” said Moakler. The heartfelt piece was penned for his fifth album.

“I know how hard it is to be on the road even when you’re doing something you love. People are clapping for you and you’ve got your buddies around you. Just thinking about these truck drivers, you look in and they’re all by themselves. I don’t feel like they’re appreciated to the extent they should be.”

A North American brand with offerings sold and serviced in 45 countries worldwide, Mack Trucks is part of the Volvo Group. A global manufacturer of trucks, buses, construction equipment, and marine and industrial engines, the group provides complete solutions for financing and service.
