Marketing communications services group, WPP AUNZ, has revealed the news of the merger between Landor and Designworks in Australia.
Landor and Designworks in Australia have merged to form a brand and customer experience design agency. The former’s capabilities and proprietary methodologies in consumer branding and innovation complement the latter’s strength in corporate branding and customer experience design.
Landor runs 27 offices worldwide which service clients such as BP, FedEx, Procter & Gamble, and Singapore Airlines. Meanwhile, Designworks’ Australian offices that are based in Sydney and Melbourne manage several key accounts which include Officeworks, Stockland, and Westpac.
“Both are outstanding businesses. Bringing them together creates a unique offering in the Australian marketing landscape; the strength of Landor’s global brand with the agility, local expertise, and knowledge of Designworks,” said Michael Connaghan, Chief Executive Officer of WPP AUNZ.
The move is representative of a new breed of omnichannel brand and customer experience practices in the region. The merged business will trade under the Landor brand in Australia as of February, while the Designworks brand and businesses will continue unaffected in the New Zealand market.
The combined business will be led by Dominic Walsh (pictured left), who reports to Sven Baker (pictured right) as Executive Chairman. Current Designworks Australia MD, Brad Doble, has been named Managing Partner in Sydney, and Landor’s Nick Davis is now Managing Partner in Melbourne.
