Johnson & Johnson and social outfit, DoSomething, partner for Give a Spit about Cancer campaign featuring actor, Hannibal Buress.
Johnson & Johnson and DoSomething have teamed up to launch Give a Spit about Cancer, an effort to encourage more young and diverse people to join the Be the Match Registry as potential bone marrow donors. Also, comedian and actor, Hannibal Buress, is lending his voice to the initiative.
Between now and the end of April, the campaign will help American youths host their own marrow registration drives within their local communities and facilitate online registrations. The inspirational push is expected to add thousands more to the Be the Match Registry.
“People of colour have a much harder time finding a donor match. In addition to getting more youths to join the registry, we hope the campaign will encourage more people with diverse backgrounds to join as well,” said Michele Fino, Chief Marketing Officer at DoSomething.
Another way to support the campaign is by downloading the Donate a Photo app available on iTunes and Google Play. For every photo taken in via the app before 14 June, Johnson & Johnson will donate a dollar to DoSomething in support of Give a Spit about Cancer.
