Partnership Will Expand Icelandic Glacial’s Domestic Footprint in Home Base

Icelandic Glacial, a premium water brand, has partnered with Coca-Cola European Partners Iceland to expand its distribution footprint throughout the Icelandic market.

Coca-Cola European Partners, a global independent Coca-Cola bottler and consumer packaged goods company in Europe which produces, distributes and markets an extensive range of non-alcoholic ready-to-drink beverages, will distribute and sell Icelandic Glacial’s portfolio in the Icelandic region along with current portfolio of beverages.

The brand’s naturally alkaline spring water is sourced and bottled locally at Iceland’s Ölfus Spring. The water is exceptionally pure, being naturally filtered by the lava rock through which it flows. Nothing is added or taken away. It also uses 100% natural green energy to fuel its production delivering a premium bottled water to discerning consumers around the world while maintaining a “net zero” carbon footprint.

“We’re very excited to be working with CCEP. We have made significant efforts to grow the Icelandic Glacial brand globally and are pleased to now be able to expand our reach at our home base,” said Icelandic Glacial Chairman and Co-Founder, Jon Olafsson.

“With the growing number of tourists in Iceland, we see a huge opportunity to add premium spring water to our portfolio to better serve our customers and be better equipped to offer solutions to consumers, especially in HORECA and tourist outlets.

“Also, we are proud to list a carbon neutral brand in our portfolio which supports our ‘This is Forward’ sustainability strategy extremely well,” said Carlos Cruz, Country Director of Coca-Cola European Partners in Iceland.

Icelandic Glacial is currently available in 24 countries worldwide. As the world’s first certified carbon neutral bottled water brand, the brand maintains a commitment to using 100% natural green energy to fuel its production in addition to using fully recyclable packaging and sustainable shipping methods.

Coca-Cola was a four-time global winner of the World Branding Awards, in the Beverages-Softdrinks category.
