Supporter of Rainbow Six Community Growth, HyperX, is Exclusive Gaming Headset Partner for Esport Event
HyperX, the gaming division of Kingston Technology, announced sponsorship of the Ubisoft Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 2018 Majors.
The company, whose mission has been to develop gaming products for gamers, is the official and exclusive headset partner for the two largest events of 2018 for the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six scene—the Six Invitational 2018 in Montreal, and the Six Major Paris.
The esports scene is growing globally and Ubisoft chose HyperX because of its gaming headset quality and significant support and involvement with the gaming community for over 10 years. The cooperation between Ubisoft and the company began in 2016.
“We are pleased to work alongside HyperX for the biggest Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six esports events this year. This partnership shows the strong relationship built with the company since the early days of the game: Siege and the growing interest into the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six esports scene and related competitions,” said Geoffroy Sardin, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Ubisoft EMEA.
Ubisoft announced a new format for the game’s 2018-2020 esports scene. The revamped formula features two Majors, events where the most intense action in the game unfolds. In addition to the Six Invitational each February, a “Six Major” tournament will take place in August.
As a first edition, the Six Paris Major will take place in Paris on August 2018. The Six Paris Major and the Six Invitational will grant respectively US $350,000/£248,510 and US $500,000/£355,015 prize pools, both events will feature 16 teams from all over the world. The company is the exclusive gaming headset partner for both Majors.
“HyperX is pleased to partner with Ubisoft for the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 2018 Majors. Competitors will be playing at the highest level as they will be equipped with the Cloud Revolver headsets, known for its wide soundstage and audio clarity. We look forward to being a part of the RB6 community and supporting its growth,” said Annie Gerard, HyperX Global Strategic Marketing.
