Partnering with The Crown, Hawes & Curtis has created collections for men and women inspired by the show—and 50s and 60s royal fashion.
Hawes & Curtis has created an exclusive collection to celebrate the release of the second season of acclaimed series, The Crown, on Blu-ray and DVD on 22 October 2018. The season follows Queen Elizabeth through the late 1950s and early sixties as she struggles to navigate a world which is fast changing around her.
Taking the opportunity to showcase its heritage by curating a capsule collection inspired by Season 2, its womenswear range draws inspiration from the Queen’s wardrobe from that era—satin blouses and lavish pussy bows. Royal blue, high-collar cotton shirts, sleek silhouettes, and fancy cufflinks capture the collection.
Meanwhile, the new Hawes & Curtis menswear collection is a reworking of traditional designs and elements into contemporary pieces. Tailored suits, classic tweed blazers, knitted waistcoats, and traditional Jermyn Street shirts are choice picks. Heritage print silk ties and accessories add the finishing touches to the tailoring.
The British brand has been a favourite for royalty. Hawes & Curtis was commissioned in 1949 to make the khaki shirt and tie for Queen Elizabeth II’s Women’s Royal Army Corps uniform when she was a princess. Other royal warrants include those from the Duke of Windsor, King George VI, and the Duke of Edinburgh.
“We are thrilled to partner with The Crown for a second season. Having served royalty including HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1949, this series truly resonates with our brand. Our carefully considered collection illustrates our heritage. Royal style has never been so attainable,” said Touker Suleyman, CEO of Hawes & Curtis.
The collection is available for purchase in stores and online.
