Garmin’s new Fenix lineup includes a variety of display technologies and an updated Enduro watch.
Garmin has unveiled its new flagship smartwatch, the Fenix 8, offering various options.
The Fenix 8 lineup features a high-resolution AMOLED display and a solar-powered MIP display for optimal battery performance.
Garmin previously marketed its flagship watch as the Epix, featuring the same capabilities as the top-tier Fenix but with a different display technology. Now, Garmin has unified them under the same branding while continuing to offer both display options.
Garmin’s smartwatch ecosystem is extensive, with a variety of features to choose from. The Fenix series, however, has consistently set the standard, often introducing innovative features that more affordable models later adopt. While Garmin offers even more premium options, including aviation-specific watches, the Fenix line remains a top-tier choice.
The new Fenix watch features a redesigned case for 40-meter diving and advanced dive functions. It also includes a microphone and speaker for hands-free calling and voice commands, strength training features, and a new mapping interface.
According to Garmin, the AMOLED model offers up to 29 days of battery life, while the solar-powered version can last up to 48 days. Beyond the visual differences and battery life, both models offer the same features.
In addition to its new features, the Fenix 8 includes typical Garmin functions such as constant health monitoring, exercise tracking, and mapping.
Along with the Fenix 8 launch, Garmin also revealed an update to the Enduro. Designed for ultra runners and those needing extended battery life, the updated Enduro can last up to 320 hours with GPS, thanks to improved solar capabilities.
“The Fenix line has been renowned for its premium features, materials, and design for years. We’re excited to introduce our most advanced Fenix yet,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of global consumer sales, in a statement.”
“This latest lineup not only brings new design elements, sport-specific training enhancements, and convenient communication tools but also offers users the choice between a stunning AMOLED display or solar charging for extended battery life”, he added.
