FleishmanHillard strengthens global business development with Della Sweetman’s appointment as Chief Business Development Officer.

FleishmanHillard has named Della Sweetman Chief Business Development Officer. Other appointments include Mariana Deal as MD, Business Development for the Americas; Paul Haugen as MD, Business Development for the EMEA; and Joanne Wong as MD, Business Development for Asia Pacific.

The above function has expanded with additional resources and capabilities to support growing client demand for global integration and solutions at scale as well as existing and new accounts with bespoke solutions in close collaboration with the recently established Omnicom Public Relations Group.

Sweetman was appointed head of the agency’s business development efforts for the Americas in 2013. Prior to that, she was General Manager for FleishmanHillard in Southern California. Along with said role, she will continue to serve as global client leader for one of the brand’s biggest clients.

Deal was formerly head of business development for the company’s U.S. Central Region. Meanwhile, Haugen was formerly the agency’s lead planner for the EMEA region. Wong served as client service leader on several large APAC agency relationships and new business liaison for the region.

“We are delighted to appoint Della to this new global role, the latest step in her long career here, and in recognition for her part in our business performance over the last year. The new global team will improve on our exceptional service,” said John Saunders (pictured), President and CEO of FleishmanHillard.
