A Christmas video by Edeka, the largest German supermarket brand, surprises and delights Christmas shoppers.
With 13 hidden cameras and 9 cashiers, shoppers were treated to the classic “Jingle Bells” with a twist – it was performed live from the beeping of cash registers.
Unsuspecting shoppers going about their regular grocery shopping wondered what was happening as the lights were dimmed. Suddenly, cashiers continued with their work but the sound of a very familiar song was revealed.
Titled “EDEKA – Kassensymphonie” (Cash Symphony), the video was created and uploaded on YouTube on 30 November. It has since been watched over 14 million times. Towards the end, a cashier takes on the role of a beat boxer, bringing smiles and cheers from delighted customers.
Who knew grocery shopping could be so much fun?
