eBay Collective was created for the brand’s 164 million buyers on the lookout for sought-after products from trusted dealers and galleries.

Online retail giant, eBay has launched a new destination called Collective, a digital hub meant to serve as an elevated shopping experience which furnishes interior designers as well as consumers with curated inventory of furniture, antiques, contemporary design, and fine art.

The platform has been developed for the brand’s 164 million active buyers on the lookout for sought-after products from trusted dealers and galleries. Dealers featured across the destination have been invited by the brand and meet specific criteria to ensure a premium shopping encounter.

The brand has also integrated Shop the Look artificial intelligence technology. Equipped with image recognition capabilities, the tool allows shoppers to hover over an image while it triggers listings of inventory which match or is a close match to the particular portion of the user’s selection.

Said inventory spans objects which can only be found in independent brick-and-mortar stores, and showcases the incomparable selection that the site offers, in a dedicated destination. Key categories of the destination include design furniture, antiques, decorative objects, and fine art.

Meanwhile, eBay will be syndicating select editorial stories from Architectural Digest and Archdigest on decorating, shopping, and industry happenings—providing access to curated content while inspiring customers to shop via Collective based on the latest trends in design.

Premium storefronts afford dealers additional opportunities to build their brands, alongside easy repeat shopping. The company has developed a white-glove managed shipping service offering flat rates on continental US freight to simplify transactions. The platform is available via mobile.

“We’re about helping people find their version of perfect. The new platform is another example of how we provide consumers with curated experiences complemented with unique inventory and an increased scope of choices to shop from,” said Jill Ramsey, Vice President of Soft Goods at eBay.
