Hilton Worldwide has widened its footprint to include a new market with the signing of Indura Beach and Golf Resort in Honduras to Curio – A Collection by Hilton. The portfolio represents a collection of upscale hotels hand-picked for travellers seeking authentic experiences.
Slated to join the marque in July and featuring 60 suites, the location marks the first Curio property in Central America. Established in 2014 while part of larger resort, the swanky façade will eventually expand to encompass up to two or three hotels and 800 residential units.
Nestled within the natural reserve that is the Jeanette Kawas National Park, the resort boasts 26 miles of the picturesque Tela Bay on the north coast as its backdrop. Meanwhile, guests savour the region’s beauty by kayaking, horseback riding, snorkelling, and bird watching.
The Garifuna word for Honduras, ‘Indura’ has worked to incorporate into its offerings, the culture of the locals, who are descendants of the Carib, Arawak, and West African people. Domestic products and sustainable materials are used across its 15 villas which house a total of 60 suites.
The property is also home to a championship 18-hole golf course. Set on 1,800 acres, it was designed by Gary Player and is overseen by Troon Golf, a luxury management company. The venue has plans to host the PGA Tour Latinoamérica Honduras Open for a second consecutive year in 2017.
The hotel’s five eateries use homegrown ingredients cultivated on site and recipes from South American cultures. The signature restaurant, Bazul, serves locally inspired and sourced breakfast, lunch, and dinner specialties. The property’s Maina Spa offers immersion in tradition via design and treatments.
Its luxury-steeped amenities make it a sought-after location for events. With a stately conference centre, executive boardroom, ballroom, and courtyards, the upcoming Curio establishment can accommodate groups of 10 to 400 people for meetings, conferences, and related activities.
“With its commitment to the local community and surrounding ecological system, Indura Beach & Golf Resort fits seamlessly into the Curio Collection, as it prioritizes the importance of an authentic travel experience,” said Dianna Vaughan, SVP and Global Head, Curio – A Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton.
Hilton was a winner at the 2014-2015 World Branding Awards under the Hotels (Global) category.
