AMV BBDO and Siegel+Gale have been appointed to lead the rebrand initiative surrounding Northern England’s Auckland Castle.
Auckland Castle Trust has picked AMV BBDO and Siegel+Gale to develop the brand identity and communications for Auckland Castle, one of Northern England’s most important historic buildings. The official appointment of the agencies follows a competitive pitch.
The aforementioned firms will work together to breathe new life into the branding and communications for the 900-year-old home of England’s Prince Bishop and its associated projects. The property is part of an ambitious restoration project supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The castle which currently houses the notable seventeenth-century paintings by Spanish artist, Francisco de Zurbarán, will include a series of new buildings and visitor experiences opening from 2017 to 2019.
The cultural undertaking is set to turn Auckland Castle and Bishop Auckland into a premier visitor destination with new art galleries, a walled garden, boutique hotel and fine dining restaurant. The initiative will help revive the local economy and create more than 100 jobs.
“We were looking for a special blend of skills for this unique task. From world-class architects to internationally significant gallery and museum partnerships, we believe we continue to secured the very best in this appointment,” said Lynda Sale, Director of Strategy & Marketing at Auckland Castle.
