The Anheuser-Busch expansion will enable the brewer to more quickly distribute clean, safe drinking water to communities from coast to coast
“For the last 30 years, Anheuser-Busch has been working with the American Red Cross and our wholesaler partners to provide clean, safe drinking water for communities hit by natural disasters,” said Michel Doukeris, CEO of Anheuser-Busch.
“Earlier this year, we recognized the employees who help make the programme possible in Budweiser’s Super Bowl commercial and made a new commitment to expand our capacity to produce safe, clean drinking water for disaster relief at our Fort Collins Brewery. Today, we are pleased to deliver on that promise, doubling our production capacity to help our fellow Americans in times of need.”
Today also marks the debut of newly designed cans and truck designs that capture the spirit of the programme, highlighting the dedication of our employees and partners to support our communities during times of need.
“Putting our production and logistics strengths to work by providing safe, clean drinking water is the best way we can help when disasters strike,” said Mr Doukeris.
“The American Red Cross and Anheuser-Busch have worked together for over three decades to help provide clean, safe drinking water for communities hit by natural disasters, totalling more than 79 million cans of water to help people in need,” said Cliff Holtz, the chief operating officer at the American Red Cross.
“In addition to Anheuser-Busch’s water contributions, they give annually to the Red Cross in advance of disasters through our Annual Disaster Giving Programme, which allows the company to immediately prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters whenever and wherever. We’re honoured to join Anheuser-Busch as we celebrate its employees, the anniversary of the first emergency drinking water production run at the Fort Collins Brewery and Anheuser-Busch’s ongoing commitment to help communities when it’s needed most.”
Anheuser-Busch has a longstanding tradition of providing emergency drinking water and supplies for disaster relief efforts in partnership with the American Red Cross. Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch has provided more than 79 million cans of emergency water to disaster-stricken areas.
In 2017, the brewer provided almost three million cans of emergency drinking water to communities impacted by natural disasters, including in Texas, Florida, Georgia and California. This year to date, Anheuser-Busch has provided more than 300,000 cans of emergency drinking water to communities facing difficult times.
