Sephora opened its first UK store in Westfield mall, White City, London, on 8 March. The new store offered a limited-edition goody bag to the first 300 customers.
This is the first store after the brand left the UK in 2005. After a successful online reach, Sephora has finally hit the physical markets, starting with a prominent location.
Sarah Boyd (Managing Director, Sephora UK) said, “After the launch of our website last autumn, we are thrilled to open our first Sephora store in one of London’s most vibrant shopping destinations.”
The acclaimed global make-up brand offers an assortment of products and services in the new outlet. The 6,000-plus sqft area store will have more than 135 brand products, including its own.
Along with top cosmetic treats, there will be in-store services like Sephora’s maiden lip bar and Benefit brow bar. In addition, the store will offer features like wrapping stations, self-checkout, skin-diagnostic, fragrance engraving and make-up services, etc.
“This new store will showcase Sephora’s best-in-class beauty expertise and provide unique services to UK customers, including make-up, skincare, haircare, fragrance, body, and personalised gifting.”
The brand had five stores in the UK in the early 2000s. However, after facing fierce competition from other brands such as Superdrug, they closed all outlets in 2005. Since then, this is the first UK store after an 18-year hiatus.
Sephora will host workshops, talks, and masterclasses with make-up experts over the next five days. Instead of tickets, these events are open to the public and will work on a “first come, first served” basis.
