The Kansas City Chiefs are teaming up with Hallmark this holiday season to deliver a perfect combination of festive cheer and football spirit.

The NFL has teamed up with Hallmark to create an original holiday film about its back-to-back Super Bowl champions.

The movie, “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” will start production next month and will film entirely in Kansas City, Missouri. Fans will see scenes set at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, marking the first time a movie has been shot at this iconic venue.

Thus, “This partnership brings together two enthusiastic fanbases and allows us to showcase the energy and tradition of Chiefs Kingdom on one of the most-watched channels during the holiday season,” said Chiefs President Mark Donovan in a news release.

According to the news release, the city illuminated its downtown skyline in purple and red on Wednesday night in honour of the collaboration between the two Kansas City-based organizations.

Hallmark’s holiday film gets a boost with a stellar cast! Fan favourites Tyler Hynes (“Shifting Gears”), Hunter King (“Two Scoops Of Italy”), and Ed Begley Jr. (“Better Call Saul”) will lead the heartwarming sports romance.

Plot Overview of ‘Holiday Touchdown’

In “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” die-hard fan Alana (Hunter King) goes all out to win the team’s Fan of the Year contest, catching the eye of fan engagement director Derrick (Tyler Hynes). Sparks fly as Derrick judges her entry, but will their competitive spirit get in the way of love?

However, when Alana’s grandfather (Begley Jr.) loses his vintage Chiefs winter hat, she begins to question her future with Derrick—unless “a little Christmas magic can throw a Hail Mary.”

Not only that, according to the news release, more than half of Hallmark Channel viewers also watched sports during the channel’s 2023 Countdown to Christmas.

We’re excited to bring Hallmark viewers and Chiefs fans together for a truly special holiday experience,” shared Darren Abbott, Hallmark’s Chief Brand Officer. “Our shared values of community and tradition create a magical mix, allowing us to showcase the Chiefs’ passionate fanbase and rich traditions through the heartwarming lens of a Hallmark movie.”
