A generational staple, soft drink brand Pepsi is celebrating its 125th anniversary in style and splendour with a 125-day campaign. As it welcomes a new era of carbonated goodness, the brand has also revealed a new logo that will be launched across the United States.
Celebrating 125 Years of Pepsi
Kicking off the celebration, #Pepsi125 begins with The Pepsi 125 Diner. The pop-up diner in New York City captures the brand’s past, present, and future, giving fans a once-in-a-lifetime experience to join the festivities.
Inspired by the quintessential American diner, The Pepsi 125 Diner will replicate sets of its iconic commercials with actual memorabilia. Moreover, the immersive experience will take fans through the eras with a 3-course meal, innovative twists, and free-flow Pepsi.
Limited-time specialities such as Pepsi PILK, Crystal Pepsi, Pepsi-Cola Soda Shop, and Pepsi-Colachup will grace the menu. Besides that, cocktails and mocktails specially created for the occasion will also be available.
Elevating the hype of the eagerly-anticipated pop-up, the first 25 registered fans who confirm a booking will enjoy unique Pepsi merchandise. The brand also introduced the Pepsi 125 Diner sweepstakes to reward five lucky winners with a trip to NYC and The Pepsi 125 Diner.
According to diner’s official website, the exclusive pop-up will take place from the 19th to the 25th of October. Diners will have a 2-hour seating period, and prices begin from USD$50. Additionally, there is no age limit for visitors (except for cocktail purchases), so kids can take part in Pepsi’s birthday bash.
Apart from The Pepsi 125 Diner, fans can enjoy a free Pepsi drink too. Between the 28th of August and the 4th of September, fans can get a USD$2.50 rebate for Pepsi drinks bought during that period. Buyers must submit proof of purchase and text a code, subject to the campaign’s Terms & Conditions.
Pepsi Officially Launches New Logo
Although Pepsi’s new logo and brand identity were unveiled in March 2023, its 125th anniversary marks the official appearance in all brand touchpoints. The new logo will materialise in North America first, followed by a global scale in 2024.
The 2023 Pepsi logo features a united globe and wordmark alongside a vibrant colour palette in its signature colours. Also, the updated typeface adopts a modern look that reflects the brand’s confidence, whilst the signature Pepsi pulse conveys movement and energy.
According to Todd Kaplan, the brand’s Chief Marketing Officer, “We couldn’t be more excited to begin a new era for Pepsi, as this exciting new and modern look will drive brand distinction to show up bigger and bolder and help people find new ways to unapologetically enjoy the things they love.”
The #Pepsi125 campaign will run for 125 days leading up to New Year’s Eve. As the year-end festivities start to take shape, there is undoubtedly more in-store from Pepsi to end its anniversary with a bang.
