Hennessy has added a third entry to its Master Blender’s series. The limited-edition cognac was crafted by Renaud Fillioux de Gironde.

Hennessy has unveiled its Master Blender’s Selection N°3, the third in a limited-edition series and first creation of eighth-generation master blender, Renaud Fillioux de Gironde. As guardian of taste and style, he is responsible for ensuring the savoir-faire, quality, and consistency of the brand’s cognacs.

The Hennessy philosophy is—cognac is not made; it is crafted. To reflect this, the single-batch series was developed to embody complete freedom of expression. It aims to deliver on the pleasure of intimate creation as well as personify the creativity, imagination, and predilection of its maker.

Concocted from eaux-de-vie (spirits) that are at least seven years old, the new release presents as a light amber liquid with golden reflections. Characterised by notes of French sponge cake and toasted hazelnuts, its roundness is subtle on the palate, courtesy of a touch of praline for a delicate finish.

In keeping with the tradition of the Hennessy craft cognac series, N°3 is bottled at 43 percent in terms of cask strength, the ideal level for preserving the distinct personality of each eau-de-vie. Blended once and never again to be replicated, it is best served neat or over a large rock to retain the liquor’s structure.

The drink will be available exclusively in the United States from October and will feature at select retailers. In tandem with the roll-out, Hennessy is tying up with leather craft brand, Will Leather Goods, for a second consecutive year; this time to introduce a limited run of premium Selection N°3 Silas Backpacks.
