Swedish helpline, Bris, has released a PSA video which introduces its new chat bot service designed to help kids dealing with loneliness.

Swedish helpline, Bris, has launched a child-counselling chat-bot on both Kik and Facebook, with a heart-breaking advertisement about a girl going through the holidays all alone. Titled We Make Christmas Less Lonely, it was created in partnership with creative shop, Garbergs.

The film from the children’s rights organisation illustrates the girl’s last day in school before the Christmas break, how she sees the joy of others during the festive season. Throughout the commercial, she carries around a little robot. At the end, the robot comforts her and gives her company.

The robot is a symbol for Brisbot, a new chat-bot service which deals with the same questions as a regular helpline. Available via mobile and on messaging platforms, Kik and Facebook, the feature offers professional counselling, answers, and advice for kids dealing with loneliness and neglect.

One of the most common problems youngsters face is a sense of hopelessness. Many who contact Bris during the holidays discuss how they feel about others having a cosy time with friends and family. Those who call experience desertion and feel as though they don’t have anyone to talk to.

The music featured is from Norwegian artiste, Ane Brun. The film was directed and produced by Johan Perjus and Josefin Kollberg respectively—from production company, Standart. Petter Ödeen serves as Creative Director on the two-minute We Make Christmas Less Lonely PSA advertisement.
