The Board Decided on Three New Appointments After Tadashi Ishii Stepped Down in December 2016

Dentsu Inc. has selected Toshihiro Yamamoto to succeed Tadashi Ishii as President & CEO following the latter’s resignation in December last year.

Yamamoto advances from his original position as Senior Vice President of the advertising company. The Keio University graduate joined Dentsu in 1981. Up to date, he is the only President who has led all three domestic business domains in Media Content, Account Services and Business Development.

“My mission is to re-establish trust in Dentsu in Japan, and build a sustainable growth path for the long term. I believe it will become a reality with the improvements we are making to create a more flexible working environment where our diverse talents will thrive to help create value for our clients and professional fulfilment for our people,” said Yamamoto.

Following his appointment, Shoichi Nakamoto is selected as Representative Director and Senior Executive Vice President and CFO, and Yoshio Takada as Representative Director and Executive Vice President.

Majoring in Commerce at Waseda University, Nakamoto has been at Dentsu since 1973. Takada, a Nihon University Law graduate joined Dentsu in 1977. All changes in the board are effective on 23 January.
