An extension of its Own the Experience summer push, the latest creative effort by Groupon is the brand’s first holiday TV campaign.

Groupon has launched the company’s first holiday TV campaign, urging shoppers to ‘Gift the Experience’ for Christmas with exclusive experiences available through the brand. The ads are an extension of the ongoing Own the Experience push which launched over the summer.

The first spot, Gift, running up to the Black Friday weekend, focuses on products found in the Groupon Goods collection. Key segments include consumer electronics, cookware, apparel, sports equipment, coats and skateboards. A second ad runs from Cyber Monday to Christmas.

Titled Experience, it focuses on the gift of local experiences to include things to do in the neighbourhood, food and drink to experiment, and beauty facilities and spas to explore. The adverts were created by O’Keefe Reinhard & Paul, with the media buy placed by Blackwood Seven.

The 15- and 30-second creatives will feature across networks and cable outlets such as ABC, Fox, NBC, Bravo, Comedy Central, E!, Food Network, HGTV, Lifetime, TLC, and USA. The multi-million-dollar campaign officially began last week and continues through the festive season.

“We’re excited about our new holiday campaign because it embraces what sets us apart from all other shopping destinations, which is that you can find the most popular products and amazing local experiences all in one place,” said Jon Wild, VP Marketing for North America at Groupon.
