The milestone signifies that the Embassy Suites project has reached its maximum height, while the structural framework now complete.

Global hospitality brand, Embassy Suites by Hilton has unveiled the ‘topping out’ of Embassy Suites New York – Midtown Manhattan. Currently in the development process, the milestone signifies that the project has reached its maximum height and the structural framework is complete.

Co-developed by Hidrock Properties and The Buccini/Pollin Group, the 310-suite hotel at 40 storeys hotel is the only such property by Hilton Worldwide in New York City. Located at 60 West 37th Street, the location features the luxury marque’s latest design concept—Design Option III.

Said model is designed to decrease the amount of land needed while increasing efficiencies in construction. The concept allows for a variety of suite-styles to meet guest needs including side-by-side, shotgun, and one-room suites as well as an open-air atrium for socialisation and comfort.

The destination is part of the growing portfolio of urban hotels from Hilton’s All Suites category, which also includes Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton. Demonstrating adaptability for downtown core areas, the three brands would have launched 22 urban properties by the end of 2017.

Its construction began in September 2014, with the location scheduled to open next year. Designed by Peter Poon Architects, it will feature a lobby bar, café with an adjoining roof deck, amenity space, and an adjacent three-level parking garage. The hotel’s north side façade is inspired by the Garment District.

The new Embassy Suites by Hilton replicates woven fabric using a combination of coloured spandrel glass and metal. Meanwhile, the getaway is set to offer made-to-order breakfast and two-hour evening reception with drinks and snacks, both complimentary, and suites with a separate living area, formal sleeping area, and bar.

“This property demonstrates the demand for suite-style hotels in downtown areas. Centrally located and beautifully designed, this property will be the hotel of choice for business and leisure travellers seeking an upscale, all-suites hotel option in New York City,” said Bill Duncan, Global Head for All Suites and Embassy Suites.

Hilton was a winner at the 2014-2015 World Branding Awards under the Hotels (Global) category.
