She joins the network as the day-to-day operational lead for the agency as well as the principal liaison across all TBWA roster clients.
TBWA\Chiat\Day has hired Nancy Reyes as Managing Director. Effective from 9 May 2016, the appointment comes on the heels of rapid expansion for the New York office, which won eight pitches in the last year including Go Daddy, Canadian retailer Sport Chek, and various projects from Merck.
Reyes, who was most recently Vice President of Marketing Creative for Verizon, is an industry veteran with nearly 20 years combined agency and client-side experience. She joins TBWA’s New York headquarters to be the day-to-day operational lead for the agency, as well as the principal liaison across all roster clients.
Key accounts include GoDaddy, Travelers Insurance, H&M, Thomson Reuters and McDonald’s, among others. Additionally, she will have a seat on the executive team and will report directly to CEO, Rob Schwartz. In her last role, she was responsible for 360-degree creative product for the wireless business.
The position included advertising, retail, and social marketing under the ‘Better Matters’ brand platform. Prior to joining Verizon, she was Managing Director of Goodby, Silverstein & Partners’ New York office. Under her leadership, the agency produced one of the year’s best and most awarded campaigns for Comcast.
The bulk of her career was spent in GS&P’s San Francisco office, where she worked for 11 years with brands including Adobe, HP, Frito-Lay, and Google. She led the team that produced HP’s award-winning The Computer Is Personal Again campaign, which won Gold at the Effies.
A graduate of Harvard University, Reyes began her career in New York City at Ogilvy & Mather and D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles working on IBM, and Procter & Gamble brands including Folgers, Pampers, and Crest. TBWA has been at the forefront of empowering female leaders within the company.
The network has publicly pledged to increase women in leadership roles across the board by 20% over the next several years. The firm also recently hired Global Creative Director, Trish Schmitt, and promoted Lauren Niemcewicz to Managing Director of TBWA’s performance marketing arm, Engage.
“Nancy is a rare combination of leadership, creative taste and great business acumen. She has worked across categories on blue-chip brands earning Effies and Cannes Lions along the way. And she can easily put herself in any client’s shoes because she’s worked client side, too,” said Schwartz.
