We don’t normally report on music videos, but it is Christmas, and this is all for a good cause.
Out of the Blue (OOTB) is Oxford’s all-male a cappella group, and this Christmas, they decided to do a cover of Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas is You and donate the proceeds to a charity they are supporting. The video, which was uploaded on YouTube last Monday, 8 December, has received over 1.2 million views in just 10 days.
Filmed around the Oxford uni logo and landmarks, such as the Bodleian Library, the beautiful Old Schools’ Quad and the Divinity School, the fun and addictive music video has received a fair amount of media attention.
The University of Oxford was a winner at the recent World Branding Forum-organised World Branding Awards, winning in the education category for the United Kingdom.
Helen & Douglas House is the world’s first children’s hospice; it provides much-needed palliative, respite, end-of-life, and bereavement care to life-limited children and young adults, and their families. The charity offers medically supported short breaks, specialist pain and symptom management, and end-of-life care, as well as counselling and practical support for the whole family.
Children can stay at Helen House Hospice, and young adults can stay at Douglas House Hospice, along with their families, if they choose. They can also take part in activities and experience our range of holistic therapies, while their families relax and rediscover time for themselves.
It costs £5 million per year to run both hospice houses, and they receive less than 15% of this from sources other than voluntary donations. Click here to make a donation.
