Facebook have announced it will be rebranding both Instagram and Whats App to reflect it’s ownership of the two social media sites.
The rebrand will mean that the apps will now say “Instagram from Facebook” and “WhatsApp from Facebook.” Although this won’t be visible on the app icon on users’ home screens, it will appear in app stores and inside the apps when using them.
The move comes with some controversy as Facebook bought out both companies after they had been established.
A Facebook spokesperson, Bertie Thomson commented on Friday: “We want to be clearer about the products and services that are part of Facebook.”
