Following the huge success of the plastic free trial Waitrose launched in Oxford this year, the brand have announced they will be extending the offer.

Three more stores in Cheltenham, Abingdon and Wallingford will be rebranded as ‘Unpackaged’ to promote the service.

Each store will have refillable areas within them offering customers the chance to purchase coffee, beer, cleaning products, dried good, fruit and vegetables all plastic-free.

Tor Harris, head of CSR for Waitrose & Partners said,  “The reaction to Waitrose Unpacked has been incredible with the invaluable feedback from thousands of customers giving us the confidence that they are prepared to change how they shop with us.

“We are keen to take the Unpacked concept forward and these additional tests will help us achieve this as well as understand its commercial viability.”
