Sally Barton heads U.S. healthcare practice at Ruder Finn, while Susan Goldstein assumes Chair, Global Healthcare Practice position.

Ruder Finn has named Sally Barton to EVP, Head of the U.S. Healthcare Practice; she will work out of New York. Meanwhile, Susan Goldstein assumes a dual role as the firm’s Chair, Global Healthcare Practice as well as President, Growth Initiatives—a newly created position.

Barton joins from Ogilvy PR, where she was responsible for growing the group’s largest healthcare client over eight years. Additionally, she has developed and managed strategic programmes for various diagnostic, pharmaceutical, device, and biotech companies.

Her expertise includes strategic media planning, advocacy relations, coalition building, professional education, direct-to-consumer marketing, public health and public policy, crisis and issues management, and more. She was once head of Cohn & Wolfe’s North American practice.

With 20 years of experience under her belt, key tasks entail strategic and operational leadership to further strengthen core competencies in emerging areas of the rapidly changing healthcare environment, including multi-channel customer engagement, consumerisation of science, connected health, and data analytics.

Having successfully guided Ruder Finn’s global healthcare network over almost a decade, Goldstein will now turn her focus to new growth initiatives for the company overall and provide new value for both existing and prospective clients within the changing healthcare landscape and beyond.

She will head strategic partnerships and pursue innovation opportunities across commercial, development, discovery, and audience engagement platforms in healthcare as well as consumer and technology. Her role is to advance the brand’s offering and propel clients’ business goals.
