PETA supporters petitioned for KFC to launch a vegan option on their menu – and now they have. ‘The Imposter’ will be available in selected location in the UK for a trial period of 4 weeks from today.
With more and more vegans in the UK, this latest move from the fast food giant will be welcome news, as long as it proves popular.
‘The Imposter’ will feature a Quorn fillet coated with the famous Original Recipe herbs and spices, topped with lettuce and vegan mayonnaise, in a soft bun. Calorie-wise, the burger is on par with the Chicken Fillet Burger, but the price-tag will be a pound cheaper.
Victoria Robertson, of KFC UK & Ireland said: “We know… it’s unfair. Vegans have been cruelly denied the incredible taste of KFC up to now, which is why we’ve worked hard to perfect The Imposter – a vegan burger that the Colonel would be proud of.”
